Passed the place many times to and from work. As it was raining today, thought we'd give it a try. First impression was, it's busy! But we were seated pretty quickly. The room was airy and bright, and well laid out. The staff were very friendly. A good choice of light meals that were reasonably priced and a cracking pot of tea! As we were a little full after eating, we took some cakes to go. Overall, a really nice place to visit

Second visit to this place, coffee is delicious, sweet treats are delicious and the variety is great. Tried the toffee nut latte today and presentation was 10/10 despite being in a takeaway cup. I really do love this place, it's just beautiful

We went for an afternoon tea for my birthday today, the staff didn’t know and still the service was excellent, food was amazing full of flavour and lots of choice. Honestly one of the best afternoon tea’s Iv ever done! Highly recommend! Xx

Enjoyed our lunch here as the portion size was very generous, using good quality ingredients and very well presented. The service was very efficient and professional. However, the chocolate cake we tried was on the dry side so I was slightly disappointed with that considering the name of the place and its reputation for deliciousness. Overall, I was very impressed with the restaurant which sold a great choice of dishes, catered well for vegetarians, easy parking and very well decorated. I definitely recommend this place and am particularly impressed by their facilities for people with disabilities.

Visited today for my mums birthday lunch. First thing to note was just how well presented and beautifully designed the cafe was, fantastic decor and very distinctively VBC, a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. The customer service was fantastic, a warm welcome when we arrived. Very attentive and a happy atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious, mum said her salad was the best she’s had in a long time. The smoothies are refreshing and would highly recommend them! Looking forward to my next visit!

I visited just before the Christmas cream teas started, and while we couldn't get a spot for that, I have finally got around to writing our visit. I don't normally do reviews, but I just felt this place really deserved it. The food was absolutely brilliant, as was the service, there was a small bit of a wait on our coffees but when a lovely, smiley girl brought over our cream tea it all tasted lovely and fresh. My best friend is celiac, and we were both blown away by how perfectly she was accommodated for. Every single item she was served was exactly the same as mine, and for the first time in over 25 years of eating out together, we got to enjoy the SAME meal. It was genuinely wonderful to experience this, as so often she is left with a token packeted brownie while I guiltily tuck in to whatever I have chosen. The girl who made our food mentioned that she was also gluten-free and truly understood the struggle, which came across in every detail. My meal was equally delicious, we both had mini scones, sausage rolls, a lovely variety of cakes and so much more we had to ask for a box to take the rest home to be shared with our families. We've been back twice since, it's so lovely to see her have real options and not just "make do". We wish we lived closer, but the trip is absolutely worth it, and I think we'll be making monthly trips back in 2025! Thank you for such a wonderful experience! This place is a gem.

Popped in today for a coffee. Don’t normally drink festive beverages. But the young barista girl named Lexie recommended cinnamon latte with toasted marshmallows as her signature coffee. It was the best drink I have had in ages. Pure coffee perfection in a mug the photos don’t do it justice. Sat in the aptly named naughty corner. There was a lovely atmosphere between the staff and customers, even though I could see the place was about to get very busy as table were being moved to accommodate large groups who had previously booked. I never felt rushed or that because I only had a coffee any less valid as a customer. Will definitely be back on the new year
